Description

Clydesdale foal from Schleich

Clydesdales grow more slowly than other horse breeds. The foals are not fully grown at the age of four to five, but only at seven to eight years. By then, they weigh a good 1,000 kilograms - as much as a small car. They are so strong that they can pull things that are much heavier than they are. Therefore, they also have a high demand for food and water. Every day they need 20-25 kilograms of grain with minerals and vitamins and about 50-60 kilograms of hay. Of course, this makes them thirsty. Very much so. Clydesdales drink over 100 liters of water a day. Country of origin: Scotland, 18th century Main breeding area: Scotland Distribution: moderate Mature height: 163-193 cm Colors: The horses are consistently sabino piebald, in which the piebald is usually represented by four white boots and a lantern or broad blaze on the face. The coat color is mostly brown, rarely black. Perfect as draft horse
