The amethyst is a peculiarity in violet. The name of this gemstone comes from the Greek word "amethyein", which means "not drunk" and alludes to the detoxifying effect of amethyst which was supposed to prevent drunkenness. The Greeks therefore often carried it with them. Today we know that even the strong amethyst cannot prevent drunkenness. But the Greeks also wore amethyst against magic and evil thoughts. It should protect from false friends, avert dangers and turn bad thoughts into the opposite. In Roman mythology it was also called the Bacchus Stone. This name goes back to the myth that the goddess Diana, jealous of the love of a nymph for Bacchus (the god of wine), transformed the nymph into an amethyst. Amethyst was mentioned in Greek mythology as well as in the Bible. In the Revelation of John it was considered the last of the twelve foundation stones of the Jerusalem city wall. Amethyst is said to have extremely versatile healing effects, which are based on its purifying effect. Thus it can be used especially well for skin care and help against migraine. This was already known to Hildegard von Bingen, who used amethyst for impure skin. Amethyst drusen, which are set up in the room, can positively influence the energy in the room and create harmony. The special significance of amethysts and their healing powers is hidden in the inner structure, cf. the rock crystal. This leads the energy flow in two different directions of rotation. Amethysts are therefore divided into right-turning and left-turning crystals, and therefore have different healing effects on body and psyche. The right-turning crystals (male crystals with Yang properties) can be recognized by their pointed tip. Left-turning crystals (female crystals with Yin properties) can be distinguished by their edges. It is generally believed that male and female crystals have their strongest effect on the opposite sex. Otherwise, they also strengthen the typical characteristics of one's own sex. This rare ability to symbolize both energies makes amethyst a strong healing stone, which is also used to purify other healing stones.

In addition, the amethyst soothes the mind and provides a deep inner peace in the long run as negative energies are dissolved. Amethyst chains can impress other people with more charisma and temperament. Druses placed in the room activate the room energy.
